WaterFire’s Clear Currents
WaterFire’s Clear Currents is a celebration of the resurgence of our urban river ecosystem in downtown Providence with its growing fish populations and restored river banks. We salute the community of volunteers, citizens, government agencies and nonprofits who have made this possible with our art installation at WaterFire on September 15th.
One hundred illuminated Japanese koi mounted on canoes and kayaks will swim in schools up and down the river of fire from sunset to midnight. The light from these brightly colored fish will compliment the eighty bonfires suspended just above the river. This image is the inspiration behind our Clear Currents tee! Together we are bringing light to the rivers as we continue our progress in improving the quality of the rivers in downtown Providence.
Proceeds from the shirt will go to creating the koi fish and presenting the event at WaterFire for the entire community. One dollar from each shirt sold online will go to the Woonasquatucket River Greenway Project.
