We are rising, Hawai'i

In 1843, Hawaiian sovereignty was threatened and then restored. Kauikeaouli proclaimed, "ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono," and the first La Ho'iho'i Ea celebration began. This national holiday was suppressed under US occupation, but in 1985, a new generation of aloha aina revived it as a celebration of Hawaiian independence. We continue this love for our land and lahui. All proceeds help perpetuate the free, public celebration of ka La Ho'iho'i Ea.

This image was created and donated by http://www.cultureshocka.com
