I once had a debate with my high school sweetheart about whether or not black was the absence of color or the presence of all color.

She said it wasn't, because science says black is when all lightwaves are absorbed. Did you know the color you see is the waves the object doesn't absorb? Trick question: you did know. It's part of the science curriculum in high school.

Anyway, in art, black is the presence of all color. Another instance where science and art don't agree on language. That's why when you order ink for a printer you might notice something called "composite black" which means the black is made from the combination of multiple inks.

If you ever want a robust and soul-sucking black in your printer, choose the non-composite black inks. It's more consistent.

Anyway, this shirt doesn't come in composite or pure black.
