The inspiration for this one came in part from 2 of my favourite anime;

Bakemonogatari, which inspired the silhouette design and playful feeling of the artwork. I actually draw quite a bit of inspiration from the head character designer Akio Watanabe's dynamic poses and expressions. I try to capture similar angles and poses with my art.
I especially like how he poses his characters with their heads tilted, and so I wanted the girl in the shadow to be tilting her head just slightly, to portray that same whimsical mood.

And then of course, Stein's Gate which inspired the scruffy scientist aesthetic of the boy in the picture. (Although, he ended up looking a bit more Persona 5 Protagonist than I had initially intended.)

This one isn't as complicated or rich in backstory as some of my other designs, but I really love how the design came out, and I hope you do too!
