“Those who leave this earth too early do
so because they use up all their energy being absolutely awesome”
For anyone who's lost a loved one too
early in life knows it’s difficult. For me, that was my Dad who died a few
months shy of his 59th birthday, just 2 months after being diagnosed with
stomach cancer. Being naturally optimistic, I decided that he had to go early
because he had depleted all of his awesomeness. I now share this idea with
others who too have to say good-bye far too early. My Dad was awesome. He was
the kind of man that the community loved simply for him ‘just being Don'. He
was a kind and simple soul that made many friends throughout his life, as he
had an ear for listening, a brilliant mind, and a calming presence.
It's for these reasons that when he
suddenly passed last year, the community mourned. It was a huge sense of loss
as it meant that my father was truly loved and missed. To thank and also give
back to the community that he loved so much, I thought a memorial dog park in
his honor would be fitting, considering how the entire town knew how much he
loved his two grand-dogs.

place for dogs to play ... while dog-lovers, friends and family connect.
If you: have also lost a loved one
too early; knew my dad and would like to honor his memory; and/or would
like to see a dog park in the Twillingate, NL area, I invite you to
purchase a shirt.
