Sometimes in studio photographers will had a soft spotlight to the backdrop using a strobe flash. This has the effect of not only providing a pleasing glow to the background but also providing background separation between the subject and background. In this tutuorial I show you how to mimic that effect using tools in Photoshop. I also show you how to use an adjustment layer to modify the tone / color of the background without impacting the subject.

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate (it will help you to follow along if you are familiar with creating layers/adjustment layers in photoshop, using the ellipse tool, layer masks, etc).
