I've been through a lot when it comes to battling diseases, years and years of fighting a progressive disease that has robbed me of more and more functions throughout these years. I was 13 when I first started getting sick, and I was 16 when I ended up in a wheelchair due to paralysis waist down. I was put in a nursing home for elderly against my will at age 21, and I lived there for six months and two days before I won my fight to get out of there and was moved to the rehab institution I wanted. I'm now 23, I still live here at rehab. I can't sit, I can't hold my head, I can't walk, stand, eat or drink. But, I've come a long way and I'm getting stronger every day, and I can do a lot more now! I had to be resuscitated by CPR in January 2014, I got my first feeding tube then. I was admitted during the summer and was dependent on TPN (nutrition directly into your veins) due to undernutrition, and I lost all my hair.
I have years of fighting against the healthcare system and healthcare professionals, as well as the fight against my body due to it being sick, behind me. It's been one hell of a fight, but I'm one hell of a fighter! I have a psychologist to help me through all of this, and I can't lose those therapy sessions. All the profit from this campaign will go to cover those bills. I want to raise awareness by sharing my story and to inspire by showing my fight! Find me on Instagram @anitaelisabethb
