In the stretch between The Fragile and With Teeth, nin.com went through a Bleedthrough concept art
phase, which I've always really liked. I have too many shirts with NIN logos on them, so when the tshirt bug bit me again, I reached back about ten years and took a stab at what a more abstract shirt from that era might look like, rendered in a single color, distressed style. It's hard to see the front design here, so I've uploaded this image
for a closer look.
And then for the back, I went with a Slip-era font, did some glitch-related filtering & editing, making the two-color print (black and very dark gray) about as large as Teespring will let me. The shirt is available in men's & women's sizes, in bright and dark colors - including black on black, for an even more subtle look.
This design is intentionally low fidelity, and admittedly won't be everyone's cup of tea. If 30 shirts are pre-ordered, they will get printed, and if not, I'll try something more conventional next time.
Whether you're new to us or have been around since ninetynine, it's been great having you as a reader.
