The Iron Dog is the World's Longest, Toughest Snowmachine Race. Participants, in teams of 2, race snowmachines from Anchorage, AK to the halfway point in Nome, AK then to the finish in Fairbanks, AK. Starting Feb. 20, 2016 and ending a week later on Feb. 27, 2016.<b>A TOTAL OF 2031 MILES!</b>This year Team #36 consists of veteran, Ryan Folsom and Rookie, Troy Conlon. This will be a great pairing for cousins, Folsom & Conlon!The 2016 Iron Dog's race goal for Team #36 is a podium finish! We battle abuse, Breed Specific Legislation (BSL,) accidental litters, overpopulation in shelters/rescues, negative reputations and media, irresponsible ownership, lack of training and vetting or access to those services - ALL of which leads to millions of unnecessary, preventable deaths of Pit Bulls, their mixes or dogs even resembling them, each year. Good Karma is in love. With Louisiana. The recent flooding has created an animal welfare crisis, and we are committed to making the 2400-mile round trip as many times as it takes, to save the lives of the animals that were already in the shelter system prior to the flooding. This makes room for flood victim dogs, and gives them time to reunite with their families. If shelters are overcrowded, dogs already in the system will be euthanized to make room for the "flood dogs".
