Daniel (20) is a current third year student at the University of Virginia. He loves playing soccer and spending time with his family. In December of 2020, Daniel suddenly fell very ill and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called HSP. The HSP ultimately developed into a rare, and incurable disease called IgA Nephropathy, attacking Daniel's kidneys. Daniel is now on several medications, including chemotherapy, steroids, and dialysis. Because there is no cure, Daniel is on a list awaiting a kidney transplant. When Daniel’s mom was asked what word she would use to describe her son, she chose the word “courageous”. The quote on the back of the t-shirt was also picked by Daniel’s mom. 60% of proceeds from this shirt will be donated to help find a cure for HSP, and other vascular diseases like it.
