Our shelter diversion program provides free
kitten care packages to anyone that finds kittens and needs assistance instead of
turning them into the shelter for euthanasia upon intake. Our goal is to provide
supplies, and refills of supplies until kittens were 8 weeks of age when they can be more
easily received by shelters and/or rescue groups. The kitten care packages, which includes a cardboard carrier, bottle, formula, litter pans, litter, canned
kitten food, dry kitten food, disposable food trays, potty pads and some oral syringes
along with a neonatal care sheet, is everything needed for emergency care of kittens under 8 weeks of age. We educate the community about what happens
when a box of kittens typically get dropped off at the local shelters, which in our area means
anything under 2 pounds or less than 8 weeks of age is typically euthanized .
