    A few years ago, when I worked in a state park, I became frustrated by the waste and inefficiency in maintaining landscapes. When I worked as a youth advocate, I became frustrated by how few chances there are for youth to get their first job. One day when I was cutting my neighbor’s lawn, I decided I could do something about both of these things.

    I’m happy to announce My Good Neighbor PDX, an ethical landscaping company that uses solar-powered tools and employs refugee/immigrant/at-risk youth. I’ve been stewing in this idea for years; I’m stoked it’s finally become a reality.
